Embracing Change: My Journey to Faith-Based Pain Relief

Updated: Sep 30

A New Beginning

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been driven, independent, and unwilling to quit—no matter the circumstances. I poured years into building a career as a nurse. I studied late into the night, worked full-time at the VA Hospital, and raised my daughter as a single mom. My vision of life was always clear: married with children, yes—but never as a stay-at-home mom. I would proudly declare, “You’ll never catch me at home with the kids, cooking elaborate meals, or homeschooling.”

But God had other plans.

A Surprising Turn of Events

In 2022, I met my husband. We started dating in May, got engaged in August, and married in October—all in the same year. That alone was something I said I would never do. I had always believed in living with someone first, testing the waters before marriage. Yet, with him, it was different. I could feel God’s hand guiding every step. Looking back, I realize that my baptism a year earlier had been preparing me for this moment of surrender.

Eight months into our marriage, while expecting our first child together, I began feeling persistent “nudges” to quit my job of 14 years with the federal government. At first, I brushed it off—maybe it was pregnancy hormones or the stress of change. But deep down, I knew it was the voice of God. One day, with nothing but faith in my heart and no backup plan, I told my husband, “I’m quitting.”

The Leap of Faith

That decision changed everything.

Two years later, I am a mother of two (with more blessings to come), homesteading, homeschooling, and shifting from modern medicine into holistic and functional health. The very life I once vowed I would never live has become the greatest joy of my heart. God transformed me into a Proverbs 31 woman, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Every day spent with my husband and children feels like a gift—one we never take for granted.

Trusting the Process

The purpose of sharing this journey is simple: when you feel that “nudge,” don’t ignore it. More often than not, it’s the Holy Spirit redirecting you toward something greater. Trust Him. The leap of faith may seem impossible, but it leads to abundance beyond measure.

So, if you find yourself resisting a calling that feels uncomfortable, uncertain, or even impossible, take courage. God’s plans are far better than our own. And I promise—you won’t regret it.

Finding Natural Pain Relief

As I embraced this new chapter, I also began exploring natural pain relief options. I discovered that many individuals are seeking ways to alleviate pain without relying solely on modern medicine. This journey has opened my eyes to the power of faith-based approaches to healing.

I learned about various holistic methods that align with my beliefs. These include prayer, meditation, and the use of natural remedies. Each step I took brought me closer to understanding my body and its needs. I realized that pain relief can be both a physical and spiritual journey.

The Role of Faith in Healing

Faith plays a crucial role in my healing process. I found comfort in scripture and prayer, which provided me with strength during challenging times. I often reflect on verses that remind me of God’s promises. They serve as a source of encouragement and hope.

When I face pain or discomfort, I turn to my faith. I remind myself that I am not alone in this journey. God is with me, guiding me toward healing and restoration. This connection has been transformative, allowing me to approach pain with a renewed perspective.

Embracing a Holistic Lifestyle

Transitioning to a holistic lifestyle has been a gradual process. I started by incorporating more whole foods into my diet. I focused on nourishing my body with natural ingredients. This shift not only improved my physical health but also enhanced my overall well-being.

I also began practicing mindfulness and meditation. These techniques helped me manage stress and anxiety, which can often exacerbate physical pain. By prioritizing my mental health, I found that I could better cope with challenges.

Building a Supportive Community

Throughout this journey, I have sought out a community of like-minded individuals. Connecting with others who share similar values has been invaluable. We support one another, share experiences, and encourage each other in our pursuit of holistic health.

This community has provided me with resources and insights that I may not have discovered on my own. Together, we explore various natural remedies and faith-based practices. It’s a beautiful reminder that we are not alone in our struggles.

Conclusion: A Journey of Transformation

As I reflect on my journey, I am filled with gratitude. The life I once envisioned has transformed into something far more beautiful. I have learned to embrace change and trust in God’s plan for my life.

If you are on a similar path, I encourage you to take that leap of faith. Explore natural pain relief options and lean into your faith. You may find that the journey leads you to unexpected blessings and a deeper connection with God.

Remember, you are not alone. Trust the process, and allow your faith to guide you toward healing and wholeness.
